Hey there! I’m Ash - artsychu on the internet. I’m your run-of-the-mill exhausted millennial who still dresses like they did in middle school, but I do art! Isn’t that neat? And that’s probably why you’re here, so I’ll cut to the chase. I have many interests, and that is reflected in my art. I have a passion for all things spooky, cutesy, stupid, geeky, and weird. Also sexy.Whether it's conjuring characters for DnD adventures or sketching out antagonists for novels, I'm here to bring your vision to life. From your favorite fandoms to fabulous drag queens and sultry sirens, I want to draw for you! I want my art to be where fantasy meets flirtatious and spooky dances with sweetness; not to mention something that brings other people joy. And brings me some money, ‘cause a girl’s gotta eat.Is this sales pitch working?Behind it all, I’m a woman working a normal full-time job who loves to do art in my spare time. This mostly started with drawing characters for the DnD campaign that my friends and I have been doing for YEARS now, drawing fanart for local queens and performers, and partnering with my writer friends to bring their characters to life. I want to be an artist that supports other artists; I love the idea of fostering a community of creatives. I’ve been encouraged by those in my corner to try selling my art, and I’ve struggled to pull the trigger for many years. But here we are! I’m trying it out. Thanks for reading all that, and thanks for checking out my art. Even if nothing comes of this, monetarily - I like the idea of people looking at the things I’ve been creating and the craft I’ve dedicated so much of my life to.

Answers to Questions People May Ask

most people would call this an FAQ but no one's actually asked me anything

What do you use to draw?
I use a 5th gen iPad Pro 12.9" and an Apple Pencil. I have a Paperfeel screen protector that destroys my Pen nibs, but I prefer the texture over glass. For the most part, I use Procreate to draw in.
I also own a Huion Kamvas GT-221 Pro, but I don't use it much because I hate sitting at a computer desk. When I drew more on my PC, I used PaintTool Sai.
Do you take requests or art trades?
For brevity's sake, no. However, if you're a taxidermist or something, hit me up.
Can I repost your art?
If you purchased it from me, of course! It's yours now. If you didn't, please ask. For the most part, the answer will be no. If you like art someone else purchased from me and want to repost it, that will be up to them.
If you do repost my art, please credit me.
Insert question about my personal life here~
I would very much like to keep my personal life out of my art. Obviously that isn't always going to happen - but please, please do not go looking for my private social media, email addresses, phone numbers.
I'll draw self-portraits here or there or post art of my dogs, but I do not forsee myself putting pictures of myself or my loved ones here. Thanks for understanding.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me. :)

My brain pumps out characters like nobody's business. I have many, many more than those listed here, but these are ones I've had for a long time, or those that may crop up fairly regularly.

chudle (dudle du)

Chudle’s a teensy inky ghost. I created him when I first started thinking about “branding” myself, or whatever. I wanted a little guy that would represent my art and could be easily recognized. I slap oversized ears on so many of my drawings, he had to have those. He’s kinda strange and unsettling, like me, but cute and approachable. I gave him a gooey body because those types of textures weird me out, and touching also weirds me out, so those things go hand-in-hand for me. I also wanted to create something moldable and fluid in order to make many stupid doodles of him. He is Mr. Dudle Du, afterall.

rhys runethamyr

Rhys is my longest-played DnD character. He’s been reworked a few times (both due to events in the game and outside of it, during breaks), but underneath it all he’s just a goofy guy that wants to be loved. He’s also damn good with a bow. As you can see, he also got the curse of the big ears that many of my characters have. I just can’t help it.
Rhys is in a relationship with my partner’s character, who is mostly broody and mean, so they complement each other well. You’ll see her in a lot of my art, too. My partner gave me a general description of her, but I mostly designed her myself.

scrabble

I made Scrabble back when I was taking commissions on websites for the furry fandom. If you know, you know. I’m not a furry but I do like drawing human/animal characters and I always have. I blame InuYasha.
Anyway, Scrabble’s a brash guttergoth opossum that’s into a little domming on the side. That’s all.

pensri ta (penta)

Pensri’s a loud-mouthed lesbian pirate with a storied history. She came to me in a dream, actually, stomping around and tempting fate with her crude attitude. I’ve used her in a DnD campaign that wasn’t seen through to the end, so she’s got a lot of work to do later down the line.
I wrote a too-long backstory for her, which stemmed different characters, and has grown much more unruly than I’d originally imagined. Her partner is Alessa; I may create a little blurb about her in the future, but she’s not fully fleshed out yet.

space claudette

Claud’s a pun alien. She came to be during inktober many moons (I didn’t do that on purpose, but I am leaving it in on purpose) ago, 2018. The prompt was “star” and for some reason I decided on a pun alien. Sue me. Either way, she became something I’ve drawn here and there when I want to draw something goofy or ultra colorful. She doesn’t have much of a story, but I do make sure her aesthetic is space thotty.

bobbi jo

I’ve lived in “southern” states my whole life, and I’ve got many a family member that are referred to by their first and middle names; that’s where Bobbi Jo’s name comes from. I first drew her as a part of a mythical creatures chillin’ series I was doing, then I drew her again for a Halloween series I did. I like the idea of a redneck werewolf, and that’s all there is to it.

praying succubus

I made this… praying mantis succubus race. Don’t remember why. I’ve only designed the Orchid Mantibus but plan on adding others. There’s not much to be said - I’m just proud of the overall design and figured I’d include them here.

jatorra n'bixi

An alien I created for an online RP (remember those???) many years ago. She’s a researcher, a very smart lady, and intends to travel the galaxy to report findings of other lifeforms. I created this huge, unnecessary background for her and the way her race operates, but it’s… a lot. So all you need to know is - she’s a blue alien with several eyes and limbs.

It's a chill, personal vibe. Check it out if you're intrigued!
